tamp round mkt seafood
rem qiang tan da xing dong and the seafood place tt was too crowded the other time? we went for it todae..and yes the only child syndrome strikes agn! haha...it was a rainy gloomy day so there was nt much of a crowd...
this is the shop! see the tv there showing his episode on tv...food was nt bad...def much better than tt jap food thingie in bedok...
scoring first is lala! sauce was nice to eat w rice!
sotong n kangkong were not bad, but a tad too oily..
stingray was qt big bt chilli was salty! dunno isit the belachan or dried shrimp la..
and he doesnt cook anymore, mebe he prep the chilli bt he does nt cook it..many more employees compared to last time...
qt cheap so value for money! can try!

phuket day 1
on board MI758 towards phuket! taking pix of all the cutesy things in the airport, like the yummy austrian brand milka chocs n hons ferarri. evening flight so the scenery outside the window was pretty!
upon reaching phuket airport, had to wait qt long for 2 ahtiongs to mk visa so was kinda bored and there were some xiao qiangs running ard. we booked this package fr CTC so there was this driver to pick us up..feel lk VIP so hon wanted to hv a pic w e signboard..ours was the last hotel so we got to see how grand the other hotels cld b..our hotel didnt let us down! phuket graceland and our homely room in 1405 at the cosy corner..and the pretty full moon! had a simple dinner near our place of sotong, prawns, rice noodle salad n coconut juice and explored the hotel abit abt e facilities available. (forgot to bring camera so no fotos of food!) then fred n his 2 frens came to pass us the receipt for the phiphi trip they helped to book for us. so nice of them! cos they walked V far fr their place to ours..heh..

in school
y in the world am i in school when i have declared myself graduated? --> to return leisure lib books tt i borrowed during the crazy times rushing for essays.
and i cleanly forgot my rslts come out todae..so here i am at the comp station. reminds mi of end of yr 2 where i used to do RA stuff here too..cos had to wait for camps to start so i often whiled my time here..glad everyone's (act onli eme n hwee) rslts are fine..and im ALIVE too!
sorta expected the rslts more or less..esp for cult..haha..hoped to get an A for eco but nm the end counts too..cos i jumped fr 3.48-3.56! hee..the hard work staring at the balcony n writing hand pain notes are worth it. =) nerdy me.

the procrastinator
yeppie doo dah the procrastinator is back...
tues LITO camp w the kindie kids were cute! got mani little girls tt look lk dolls..so cute n rather well behaved...juz tt some were realli shy...and i tink kids nowadays are rather pampered by their parents..cos they dont noe wat to do (change clothes, brush teeth etc)...but judging fr their age (5/6 yrs old) to come to a camp on their own is not bad.. =)
there was this incident tt a girl misplaced her toothpaste..so i told her to borrow fr her fren..but somehow it was so difficult for her to open her mouth n ask..as if her fren wld eat her up... -_- scared paiseh or juz used to things dropping down fr e sky? hmm...
and the giant cockroach at the nursing room scared the daylights out of me..! lucki evan was nt afraid of them so he helped to exterminate IT. n i was SO worried tt another one wld appear (slping on the floor ma) and somebody had a 'visit' fr a cockroach in his slping bag during one LITO so i was even more freaked out. so i woke up hourly like the beep signal tt comes fr a digital watch.
thankew to hd2 for lunching w mi at seah im on rainy wed, after which we left for some sandal shopping at hbf centre..
the juz concluded LITO camp was more challenging la..cos the 'kids' were noisier! i took e same pri sch last yr and the teacher greeted me by saying "hello...AGAIN.." haha...at least he knew more abt the camp this time n helped us brief or lead the grp..boys are stinky. cos they r super duper chatty... >.< my poor ears. slp was ok i guess..altho stil afraid tt cockroaches mite appear..slept lk a log onli woke up at 3 n 6am so i guess still managed to get some slp. justin cldnt slp and still survived this morning. peifu peifu. its a small world..he got into this job cos he is marcus' gf's bro.
then had lunch at superdog b4 i embarassed myself on the train agn w my faling head taken awae by slping bugs and now im home swt home. earli morning tml for checkup (yes i haven done it i tink the whole world has done it) and to sch to return some books..then dinner at suntec followed by indiana jones.
and posting of phuket cannot commence w/o hon's pix so dont blame mi. haha. the procrastinator.
tired. too old le do back to back qt seh.

kor has juz returned fr bkk n krabi, eme is enjoying herself in tw, flingstone has juz departed for phuket!
and im in limbo, not left, not qt back yet.
its my turn to rest n lead the high life in phuket, work my ass three quarters of the way off, then have crazy days w my hons ppl, while both trips will encourage mi to turn more chaota (so ppl wont keep commenting hw come im so far when i do work under the sun albeit not all the time).
work has been ok..revisiting both dl n uws, meeting all those ppl i noe so well n miss rather alot..poor rat fish seems to b losing popularity, being transferred fr tank to tank (jap giant spider crab tank n now the tiny nautilus tank)...seeing the new girls coming in just like me when i WAS 18 going on 19..4 looooooong years working w the fishies!
an overworked fren was dumbfounded when questioned abt by his boss:
what wld u do if u had 6mths to live?
im mulling over it too..n i tink i noe what i wan.

and on another side side note: im meeting flingstone for one day in phuket! since he'll b there too...ANDANDAND all u darlings (steph, clare, ms prawn, hwee etcetc) who wish to go ktv agn can consider 29/31 may or 2 june.

hypochondriac
its been a long time since ive caught a plae! hypochondriac at black box nlib w js...was a great comedy and im glad i went cos it was such a humorous one which cheered me up lots..heh..
and good to see baoz n qc agn after a rather long while..both astonished tt im graduating soon...hee..and met vincent there too!
hope to watch another plae soon!
makan at MOF my izakaya agn! this time tried both e main dishes and the desserts...salmon sashimi salad juz for tries (sakuraya is stil unbeatable), beef sukiyaki, salmon set, macha imo n sesame sundae...i like those little card thingies tt they serve tog w food to let u noe more abt ur food...n i guess they are trying to provide v nice service to the best of their ablity. the raw egg tt comes w sukiyaki is funni cos u r supp to break the egg in a small bowl before pouring it into the pot. scared u kena scalded ma. so there was this table beside us (young girls) who didnt noe wat to do w e egg, so js to the rescue! haa..w prior experience at our table ma.. =p
yest was a bad fotography dae cos my fotos turned out rather lacklustre, blurry n all...but was a good time!

filling it up
it feels kinda empty cos we are more or less done with school...filling up my free days to fun outings...belting out songs at the $10 ktv...feeling taitai-ish at dimsum places...looking for places to chill after walking about...and staying out late without fear of unfinished assignments and late nites...
like a tightly strung rubber band now left slack.
tearing up ice cream cone paper and serviettes at macs...and taking N number of fotos...
the beautiful spore river and my fave cavanagh bridge...
taking artistic emo pix of hd2 (edited w picasa)
highlights of the beautiful nite included:
-jo creating her new song which combines 忘情水 and 我只在乎你 which left me and eme in stitches
-hd2 singing english songs like 'the reason' n 'never had a drm come true'
-singing 中国话 for the first time (supposedly together bt ended me alone cos it was too much of a tongue twister)
- seeing 失忆 mtv n singing it for the first time (it has been ard for some time...love the lyrics)
-爱的主旋律 the song tt gave us the goosebumps and 'eeyers' fr jo
-the bickering 'couple' who were perpetually bickering everywhere we went for some reason i dunno y
-hd2 revealing his skills in his minor in beng-ness
-late nite at hk cafe
-boarding 7n which brought me to my door step at abt 4-ish am
walking ard the streets without a care in the world
not wanting to think of what the future brings for the time being

feeling nuah
a funfilled week w makan at sushi tei, shin n hk kim gary w jo, vivi n hon. as if we were going to diff countries to eat diff stuff! fat alrd la lidat..
so on tues we decided to work out by doing some rock climbing! glad at the turn out..altho onli 3 belayers bt we had lotsa fun on e walls!
and stace likes to sae tt i hog wall la, hog belayer (hd1)...so funni...but i fotographer hor...cos there was this tough wall tt i was trying to conquer bt cannot! so i was hanging there resting for qt long on n off n progressing like a snail..haha...so paiseh..i will conquer u evil wall! (the next time la) n thankew to the 3 belayers! hwee for hanging on to me for such a long time, joey for climbing up to pass mi chalk n tk fotos for mi, and master see for being a great TEEcher..of cos not forgetting u lovelies (stace, junhao, trace, vivi n hongyi) for e great company! not too bad la the aches are worth the fun!

finalli im watching what i want to! love u to death..haha..based on true story wor..bt its short la...onli half hour rite? and its like true files..juz the re-enactment part..haha...
had dinner w e ladies last nite at swensons at MS...main dishes and ice cream rocked! n it was great to b chatting tog agn..lets plan our choc buffet soon!

the 4 sundaes! chocolate lovers...hee...
had supper w hon n jc at newton food centre! and i drank..haha..share slurpee -- heineken style...=) and picked at the bbq seafood cos i was stuffed to the brim alrd..
i went to downtown east for e first time! after renovation la..after they built the new building which guzzles a truckload of energy..7pm to 7am loh i tink... >.<
watched the ppl bowling...making mi wanna bowl too...not been bowling since i hurt my hand...i wan to try and i hope i can..!

eme likes to sae i got weird fetishes...example cos i like the smell of the stale lift...but she is weirder la..she wans questions for cultural analysis...or mebe its cos she wans to noe how come it has made mi so crazy and wans to laff at mi for it..haha...
1. critically examine the ways in which 'culture' has been reconceptualized in the 'new social and cultural geog' and the challenges n possibilities for doing soc n cult geog offered by this reconceptualisation.
im not critical..so whatever la huh..
2. it is often argued tt ppl DO rather than HAVE culture. what are ur views on this distinction?
i did this! cos reminded mi of the ontological epistemiological thingy tt mi n hd1 were talking online the dae b4 exam..and as the politically correct answer goes, we shd go agst dividing concepts into binaries and seek to look at them in a network approach..haha...
3. discuss the rship btwn space, subjectivity and pwr, drawing on foucaults notion of governmentality and at least 2 of the following: poco, queer theory n feminist geogs.
i did this too! cos i got study govern, queer n fem geog..so super duper easy to choose...haha...
4. imagine tt e dept is undertaking a review of all its modules at the end of the AY. in e case of cult analysis, this provides and opportunity to 1) update the content of the module to incorporate recent ub-disciplinary devts, 2)change the name of the module sos that it more accurately reflects this content. write a proposal for e new (improved and renamed) module drawing upon ur knowledge of recent work in soc n cult geog.
i nv do...but if i need to update content i will give half of geog thot here...and i will rename it 'GE4444: kills brain cells n makes u kookoo'.
5. to what extent do u agree tt contemp cult geog is intensely political? explain ur position.
moment i saw this short and sweet question, i ran away..haha...

alritey this is wat happens to me when i read too many readings..haha..i see words actualli..and im cuter than that...yah rite... =p
todae is an exponentially productive day with peaks in the morning till mid afternoon and exponentially decreasing after my shower (i sound like the weather forecast...)...but i managed to tie up most/all loose ends for jap and cultural...cultural nearli took my breath awae (literally)! so i began a slow and arduous journey on eco...readings are interesting but v long..or isit my speed too slow...
anyway i juz realised doing notes while reading instead of highlighting is much faster...and mebe after writing more my hand is now less suan compared to when i was writing for tourism...haha...so late then realise in the end i can onli do it for 1 and a half modules.. =p
was juz playing with words in my head.
br eakfast + l unch = brunch
lu nch + di nner = lunner
di nner + su pper = dipper
and specially for hwee:
lu nch + tea = lutea
te a + di nner = tenner
so todae i jian fei i eat brekkie and lunner...haha...sounds v nan ting...
and i watched a very nice show juz now called 'man on fire'...a movie in 2004...altho i onli watched 3 quarters of it..but was pulled in by the nice shots, how they juxtapose the images, the pan and closeup views, the interspersing of language...and denzel washington's character creasy was amazing! i cried..at the last bit..but he realli is a great assassin...finishing up all the enemies and altho in the end they thot tt they cld kill him but he did not manage to allow them to...the cutesy notebook of the little girl (dakota fanning) is the recurrent motif! (rarr i sound like im in lit class for film all over agn...)
and im a happy lady cos yest i got to watch supernatural and survivor! and to think tt next fri i will b FREE! can fly! well not literally lk u happi ladies, but soon...
and i hope to watch love u to death someday..looks nice but duno if it is realli crappy...i miss ghost whisperer too! it alwys makes mi cry cos its v real...

day 2 of self-containment
the title sounds like those self-quarantine thingies..haha..but im doing for the exams hor..
conquering the peaks of jap and culture! i hope to get over them soon cos eco needs some attention as well...
now getting used to the routine of waking earli and slping averageli..but still having to peel myself off the bed at most of the times..*yawn* and by the time the sun sets, so do my eyelids...
went for a jog yest..ran a little further and faster than normal..but the hot sun was making me tired...even my feet felt lk they were burning!
but its juz me agst myself. so juz take ur time.
catch ur breath. tk ur stride.
and i did salmon soba todae! pls salivate..i dont go out oso can get nice food okie..haha...自我安慰strategy...
and i need more brain cells to piece up all the timelines and stuff...like when feminist geog, marxist geog, poststruct, pomo, poco...and WW2, bubble economy, reglobalisation, asian ec crisis...timeslines for both jap and cult got me momentarily confused...
